Kevin Schaefer
Associate AttorneyBefore becoming one of our associate attorneys, Kevin worked as a clerk at Dabdoub Law Firm while attending law school. He made his passion for helping people receive disability benefits a full-time job when joining the firm as a lawyer after graduating from law school.
Kevin dedicates his time to helping individuals with short-term and long-term disability claims. He routinely handles appeals for long-term disability claims when the clients’ benefits are wrongly terminated or denied, as well as lawsuits for disability insurance benefits in state and federal courts. He understands that his clients deserve disability benefits, whether they are through individual or group insurance policies.
Most of the cases that he handles fall under the ERISA. Kevin has represented individuals against all major disability insurance companies since joining Dabdoub Law Firm. The clients that he works with suffer from numerous medical conditions, including, but not limited to, multiple sclerosis (MS), cognitive impairments, fibromyalgia, Meniere’s disease, chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and concussions. Kevin has even defended NFL players in their battles against insurance companies for total and permanent benefits under the NFL’s disability plan.
Kevin graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 2016 with magna cum laude honors. He worked for a large infrastructure corporation in their in-house legal department prior to joining Dabdoub Law Firm. Before going to law school, Kevin received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He also minored in Sports Business Management from the University of Central Florida and graduated with summa cum laude honors. He was recognized for his work in a course on Representing a Pro Sports Franchise and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award from the University of Miami School of Law.
